A Story in Six Circles
Every KOORELOO bag is handmade in Athens, Greece, and carries a story shaped by contrasts: strength and softness, tradition and rebellion, craftsmanship and freedom.
At the heart of the house are the Six Circles — rooted in a Greek tradition of sewing charm coins ("flouria") onto festive garments. KOORELOO began by placing six actual charm coins on the bag itself; the number six carries its own meaning, symbolizing harmony, love, and family. That original detail evolved into our circular metal hardware — the dome emblem and the six-circle emblem — one consistent language carried across the whole house.
Inside Each Bag – The Wisdom of Athena
Hand-drawn by KOORELOO’s Creative Director, Athena draws inspiration from Phidias’ legendary chryselephantine statue of Athena, the monumental gold-and-ivory figure that stood at the heart of the Parthenon during antiquity, embodying wisdom, craftsmanship and creative power.
Placed inside every KOORELOO bag, she represents the world within: the unseen layers of strength, imagination and spirit that can be even more powerful than what is seen. The original drawing later became the starting point for a wider series of artworks exploring the radiance, dynamism and creative force of the human spirit through art and design.
